Security Audits & Compliance
Prepare for the audit, not just the report.
Gap assessments against ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST frameworks — carried out by people who also break into systems for a living, so the controls you build hold up against real attacks, not just auditors.
What we cover
Every engagement is scoped to your environment — these are the areas we typically work across.
ISO/IEC 27001
Gap assessment against ISMS requirements and Annex A controls ahead of your certification audit.
SOC 2
Readiness review against the Trust Services Criteria — control design, ownership, and the evidence your auditor will ask for.
NIST Cybersecurity Framework
Maturity assessment across the NIST CSF functions, with a target profile and a realistic roadmap to reach it.
Technical control validation
Checking that controls work in practice — access reviews, logging, backups, hardening — rather than only existing in policy documents.
What you get
- Control-by-control gap report against the chosen framework
- Prioritized remediation roadmap
- Review of existing policies and procedures
- Technical validation of key controls
- Readiness check before the formal audit
- Methodology
- ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria, and NIST CSF
- Timeline
- Depends on your starting point — the initial gap assessment gives you a realistic timeline to audit readiness.
- Confidentiality
- NDA signed before scoping. Evidence encrypted and deleted on an agreed schedule.
Security Audits & Compliance FAQ
Are you a certification body?
No. We prepare you for the audit; ISO 27001 certification is issued by an accredited certification body and a SOC 2 report by an independent CPA firm. That separation keeps our advice independent.
Can you take us all the way to certification?
Yes. A gap assessment is often the first step — our ISO 27001 & SOC 2 Certification service covers everything after it, from implementing controls to supporting you through the application and the audit.
Why use offensive security people for compliance?
Compliance proves a control exists. We also check whether it would actually stop an attacker — so the effort you put into the audit improves your real security posture too.
Which framework should we start with?
Usually the one your customers or regulators ask for. If nobody is asking yet, we'll help you pick based on your market — ISO 27001 is common in Europe, SOC 2 with US customers.
